Business Opportunity: Winery Café for Lease ! We would like to establish a permanent café at Pukeora. The only trouble is we don’t have the experience or time to run the café fulltime. We are seeking an interested party to assist with establishing a permanent café on site.
The atmosphere at Pukeora is generally relaxed as much as converting an old hospital into a vineyard/winery and function centre can allow. We would prefer people with prior experience but enthusiasm is the main ingredient required.
We are happy to discuss an arrangement preferably as a lease but partnering or share of turnover could be considered depending on the situation of the prospective applicant.
It is anticipated that as the events/functions side of the business develops, the café would take on more of the catering component in addition to the day to day café operation and therefore could become a lucrative venture.
The lovely wooden floors have been stripped back and coated with polyurethane. The public areas have been fully refurbished and mood halogen lighting fitted. A character macrocarpa slab bar counter is fitted. The kitchen area has 3 sinks and a number of benches installed. Some minor development remains eg smokehood, window screens, separate hot water supply. The electrical system has been upgraded to cope with restaurant requirements - including expresso machine plugs & plumbing . A new starline dishwasher is installed. Ovens, fridges etc are not of commercial grade but may be adequate to get started with.
A number of surplus rooms further down the closed in verandah would suit leasing to perhaps art and craft workshops/shops and/or for perhaps cottage/hand-made food retailers.
Depending on the situation of the interested party, we can most likely arrange something in the way of on-site accommodation as there are 5 houses and 3 flats on site.
