Chardonnnay 2006 Cellar door price $14 (RRP $NZ 16.95) Case=$151 A classic style of chardonnay showing hints of vanilla with citrus fruit on the nose followed by crisp citrus flavours with a long finish. Crafted in our boutique winery from our hand picked grapes, crushed, soaked on skins overnight, pressed then cold settled, fermented in stainless steel tanks with partial malolactic fermentation, 40% aged 6 months in French oak barriques. Pinot Noir 2006 Cellar door price $22 (RRP $NZ 24.95) Case=$237 The 2006 pinot noir has deep colour, ripe spicey fruit on the nose followed by plum/raspberry/strawberry flavours with a complex intensity and a lingering acidity to finish. Crafted in our boutique winery from our hand picked grapes, destemmed, transferred by hand to open vats for hand plunging during fermentation, hand transferred to press, pressed, then aged 9 months in French oak barriques. “The Benches” Red 2006 Cellar door price $18(RRP $NZ 19.95) Case=$194 This year’s The Benches is a full bodied blend of merlot (62%), cabernet sauvignon 20%), malbec (12%) and syrah (6%). The wine shows Christmas cake, vanilla and blackcurrants on the nose leading to a rich mouthful of currants, warm spice and supple tannins. The wine is crafted in our boutique winery from our hand picked grapes, crushed, fermented in stainless steel with periodic pumping over to ensure good extraction, then aged for 12 months in new and seasoned oak barriques.
