San Hill The Benches Red 2006, 750ml
 The 2006 The Benches is a full bodied blend of merlot (62%), cabernet sauvignon (20%), malbec (12%) and syrah (6%). The wine shows Christmas cake, vanilla and blackcurrants on the nose leading to a rich mouthful of currants, warm spice and rich tannins.
The wine is crafted in our boutique winery from our hand picked grapes, crushed, fermented in stainless steel with periodic pumping to ensure good extraction, then aged for 12 months in new and seasoned oak barriques.
The estate grown grapes come from from sun baked terraced slopes of a north facing basin with free draining limestone soils over a clay sublayer. With an elevation up to 250m and a latitude of 40º, they reflect our unique local terrior.
